Northern Grade Market Pops Up in Brooklyn

On Saturday in Dumbo at powerhouse Arena, Northern Grade will kick off their 2014 tour of pop-up markets featuring Made in America duds from menswear-based brands. Among the offerings, vendors will sell sturdy leather bags, sharp blazers, handmade baseballs and even free hair cuts.
A partnership with GQ, this weekend’s market will feature brands like Billy Reid(keep an eye out for the stadium bag), Billy Belts(yep, you guessed it, they’ll have belts available), Giles & Brother(“mancessories” anyone?) and even Fellow Barber(perfect if you didn’t get a chance to stop by their pop-up at the Wythe). Greenpoint-based designer Kristina Angelozzi of Fischer will also be there with her casual shirting and accessories.
“I do all of my accessories myself,” she said in the middle of her hectic week preparing for the event where, among other pieces she’ll debut a GQ x Northern Grade exclusive shirt. “All the shirting is done in a local Manhattan factory.”
It won’t be all about the products though as every Northern Grade pop-up takes on more of an open-air market feel. In addition to vendors, the team has flown in DJ Jonathan Ackerman from Minneapolis and will have local food as well as drinks on tap.
