Event Description:

"Stick flowers in your typewriter and dance at the office." -- Tom Robbins It's a myth that you need to start young to learn dance! This modern dance class is for all skill levels looking to play and practice in a non-competitive venue. Class is geared towards artists + creatives who want to embrace dance as part of their regular art/life and self-realization. What we will do in class: 1. Follow a basic warm-up meshing modern, improvisation, classical ballet and yoga 2. Learn challenging original choreography 3. Play intuitive visualization games and improvisation exercises 4. Explore a new theme each week, drawing from and building connections between dance history, pop culture, style, feminism, the occult & spirituality Cost: $10 donation Class is held barefoot. Bring a water bottle and wear whatever makes you feel free to MOVE. Music will vary from pop and trip-hop to doomfolk and doowop, DJs and live musicians.
