Scenes From Speed Rack
Brooklyn Exposed | December 17, 2013
Speed Rack, a national cocktail competition created by and for female bartenders, hit the Music Hall of Williamsburg Sunday night. Competing bartenders made a round of cocktails selected at random by the judges from a list of 50 drinks. The judges evaluated each drink based on accuracy, taste and presentation. For the NYC edition, Shannon Ponche was crowned Miss Speed Rack, an honor that comes with the chance to compete in the finals to earn the Miss Speed Rack USA title. One hundred percent of proceeds from the event go to breast cancer education, prevention and research. Over the past two years, Speed Rack has raised more than $150,000 for charities such as NBCF and SHARE.
