Art Exhibits

Junko Mizuno and David M Cook

Opening Event: Friday March 7th, 7pm to 11pm

Junko Mizuno is a Japanse artist born in Tokyo. Currently residing in San Francisco, she is constantly working on new comics, paintings, illustrations, and designs for products ranging from toys to clothing. In 1996, Junko Mizuno self-produced a photocopy booklet called "MINA animal DX" which brought her to the attention of the publishing industry in Japan. Soon after, she debuted as a professional comic artist and illustrator. In 2007, she started showing her work in galleries in US and Europe. Junko's next exhibition will be here in Brooklyn at Cotton Candy Machine! Junko has show with us in all three of the Tiny Trifecta's and we couldn't be more excited to present this new exhibition! More previews to come.

David M. Cook is the architect of a mischievous microcosm. Amicable and unassuming, he hardly seems the “type” to consistently and skillfully crank out such a lewd labyrinth of work, but the cheeky hedonism comes all too naturally. Based in Los Angeles by of Brooklyn, but originally from Louisville, Kentucky, David (who also answers to Bonethrower) uses no shortage of fine lines to design a world that is equal parts modern mysticism and memento mori—at the end of the day, it all sinks in like a psychotropic drug. David has been in Los Angeles working away and this will be our first time having him back at Cotton Candy Machine since his move to the west coast. Follow him as he prepares for his return to Brooklyn!
