An Author Walks Into a Bar…
Rosie Schaap, author of the soon to be released book Drinking with Men, joins in on the fun as a contestant at Ask Me Another. It’s a night of music, comedy and trivia. Special guest Schaap is knowledgeable about the ins and outs of bar scenes from Brooklyn to New England. Find out how much she knows when she finds herself in the hot seat.

Where: The Bellhouse, 149 7th Street, Gowanus

The Big Quiz Thing
Brainiacs and Smart Alecs can compete for points by getting answers right or hilariously wrong. Prizes include tickets to future shows, a $300 jackpot and more!

Where: Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street, Gowanus
Time: Doors open at 7pm. Show begins at 7:30pm
Cost: $8- $10

Brooklyn Loves Brooklyn
Councilwoman Letitia James, community arts groups and the Irondale Ensemble come together to show continued hometown love and support by raising funds for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The night includes performances by the Brooklyn Ballet, Urban Bush Women, the Irondale Ensemble and more.

Where: Irondale Center, 85 South Oxford Street, Fort Greene
Time: Doors open at 6:30pm

Young Love, Old Trains and Ghosts Oh My!
Ah…to be young and in love and to have an audience to share it with. A two person cast tells the story of a train yard that is a make-out spot for young lovers and home to a legendary ghost train in the play Take Her to See Maco Lights. It’s a tale of love with a dose of the supernatural.

Where: Invisible Dog • 51 Bergen St. Cobble Hill
Time: 7pm
Cost: $15

All Eyes on Brooklyn
Filmmakers from all over Brooklyn submitted their movie shorts and documentaries to the “On the Block” film challenge and this screening features the top 15 films. Each film that was submitted had to be shot on the block where the filmmaker lives and the cast could only include the residents from their block. You might be surprised and see your neighbors on film. The night also includes cocktails and a chance to meet and celebrate with the makers of each film.

Where: White Wave, John Ryan Theater, 25 Jay Street (enter at John Street), DUMBO
Time: 7pm- 10:15pm
Cost: $7 in advance, $9 at the door
